Second place prize of $50 was won by Tom Helms. Green’s poem, “Safety ’76,” follows: Let’s think safety first in seventy-six And try to avoid breaks, scratches, and nicks. The best defense against getting hurt Is to keep your body healthy and your mind alert. Olin can be the safest mill around If common sense and good judgment abound. So ... let's all pitch in and do our part, And towards a safe seventy-six we’ll have a great start. Helms’s poster shows a bewildered Minuteman confronting dark glasses on the enemy as his companion warns, “Remember — don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes.” The poster's slogan: If old patriot folk Of their safety had joked Our liberty might have been broked. SPECIALTY SERVICES GROUP IS FORMED Olin Corporation has established a new Specialty Services Group to consist of certain operations that were formerly part of other Olin operating groups. Assigned to the new group are Olin’s construction fastening sys tems companies including Ramset Division operations in the U. S., Canada, Mexico, Asia and Austra lia, and Societe de Prospection et D Inventions Techniques, based in France and operating through out Europe: Nilo Barge Line, Inc., St. Louis, operating on U. S. in land waterways and the Gulf of Mexico, and Olin Water Services, a nationwide water treatment com pany based in Kansas City, Kan. Consolidated worldwide sales of these companies total more than $80-million a year, including sales to other Olin groups. Separating these essentially ser vice-oriented businesses from the Winchester and Chemicals groups is intended to provide the com panies in the new group with more direct management attention and to help them develop their potential in their own fields more effectively. Paulette Hooper Gasperson admires posters displayed in Ecusta’s Quality Control safety contest.
